SPLAINE PHOTOGRAPHY, LLC Photography that

tells your story...

In the very near future I will be posting images and text to a photoblog.  This area will feature a steady stream of new photos as well as some notes and essays on the subject of photography

some blog subjects:

1. The New Hampshire primary:  Once again my humble state will be the host to all the political comers of the 2008 Presidential race.  For me this combines the best of both worlds, politics and photographic coverage.

2. Photo of the day: Likely to be a whimsical selection this posting would be a discussion of the image back story.  How did the photo occur?  What creative decisions were involved? This is an exercise in critical analysis and an invitation for commentary.

articles posting soon:

PHOTOGRAPHY and YOUR PRESS CAMPAIGN
The inclusion of still photography as part of a compre
hensive press and media relations program provides the client incredible roi.

Business and Enviromental Portraits as public relations tools. A well executed environmental portrait compared to a standard studio headshot says so much more about the subject.  Given the objective of "photography that tells your story" I specialize in this type of photo.

Photographing Maritime subjects and Environments:  As a U.S.C.G. Licensed Captain and certified diver one of my favorite subjects and workplaces involves the water.  Boating, fishing and the weather are frequently featured in my photographs.  The ever changing ocean landscape and lighting is a subject of endless fascination.

How a microscopic ice worm changed photography for me forever. You may ask what does a 5 millimeter worm that dwells only in frozen glacial conditions have to do with taking pictures?  In February of 2001 I found myself with a new client called the Jason Project on a scientific expedition to Portage National Park in the dead of Alaskan winter. I had been provided this terrific assignment and photo opportunity by the good graces of Scott Triebitz President of Tricom Associates the clients Public relations provider.   Mr. Treibitz’s offer of the project was conditional upon my being able to provide digital images as well as traditional film photography.

look for updates:

The construction of my blog is underway.  I am accumulating articles and images for the launch.  I all goes according to plan this feature will be posted within weeks.
